Had a great first lesson with Belle! I am taking a conversational university course that uses the textbook series Integrated Chinese, so I was looking for someone familiar with this textbook for extra practice. Specifically, I would like to gain confidence and comfort in applying the grammar and vocabulary from the textbook **in context**, i.e. spontaneously in actual conversation. I was excited to learn that Belle has a lot of experience teaching the Integrated Chinese material. I also enjoyed the format of our first lesson, which was truly focused around conversation (mostly natural genuine conversation, but also with some conversation-based exercises). At the end of this trial lesson, we also had a good discussion about how to design future sessions, and Belle was understanding enthusiastic about helping me with my specific goals! I'm looking forward to experimenting further with Belle using this format of lesson!

I've taken a few lessons with Belle she is a really great teacher! I studied a little bit of Chinese (online podcasts/self-study with Yoyo Chinese) before I started with her but felt frustrated and a little discouraged after a while because I felt like I wasn't able to learn as quickly, get feedback or implement what I was learning without a real person who can teach me and help me advance. Since I've started with Belle, learning from her is perfect as I continue learning with Yoyo Chinese online. I definitely feel like my Chinese has improved :) She is very patient but also challenges me in a good way (it's a good balance of support and stretch) to advance in my Chinese language skills :)

Belle is a fantastic teacher! She encourages and pushes me in a way that I need. She isn't just about teaching words, but also makes sure that you can stand on your own, ensuring that you improve your listening comprehension. Not everyone speaks slowly! I love that she's preparing for real-life scenarios.

What a delight! I'm an advanced student, and Belle teaches in a way that is funny, challenging, smart, and extremely relevant to contemporary culture.
