Living in Gauhati, India

Hello! I’m Gagan—a lifelong language enthusiast and polyglot from India, where I grew up surrounded by four vibrant languages. My passion for Hindi runs deep: I’m not only fluent, but also the author of a self-published Hindi poetry book. Having learned several languages myself as an adult, I truly understand the challenges and joys of language acquisition. My unique background helps me connect with learners from all walks of life, especially those juggling multiple languages or starting Hindi as adults. Beyond languages, I’m fascinated by tech, physics, history, and art. If you’re looking for a tutor who blends cultural insight, creative flair, and real-world experience, I’d love to help you unlock the beauty of Hindi. Let’s start this journey together!

Gagan is clearly at home in the language space and seems to be engaged with ideas like ALG and CI. Although I am not a believer in ALG I do believe in CI and think his advice was good. He is also familiar with the IPA and in general phonology. In addition to this the video quality and audio quality was also great. In summary: a true gem in the Hindi teaching space. In our lesson we reviewed pronunciation and did a kind of in-take for my level. It went surprisingly well for my first time speaking Hindi out loud. Gagan made it quite comfortable. I also got some useful tips for hard sounds like the r in ghora and rh in parhna. The only negative thing I have is that Gagan spoke fairly above my level which is probably due to us only having had one lesson. I do expect this will get better at he gets a sharper idea of my skill level in the coming lessons. All in all: miles better than other HIndi tutors I have tried, would recommend!

Gagan is a great teacher - he paces his lessons well, but is also very responsive to questions and has an excellent grasp of linguistic terminology, so he is able to explain precisely what the function of any particular word is, for those who have a background in linguistics. But even for those who do not, he explains precisely and simply what meaning a word is used to convey

I had a good first lesson with Gagan! We discussed my goals and what kind of Hindi I'd like to learn, and we practiced some key phrases and constructions, with simple practice exercises for the next lesson. He was knowledgeable and speaks other languages which I also speak, which helped me to conceptualise things which exist in these other languages and in Hindi, but not in English

Gagan is a super kind and helpful teacher and he really encourages you to try your very best. I thought I only knew a tiny bit of Hindi but in the lesson I was surprised myself by how much I could understand and even though I could only respond on a very basic conversational level in Hindi I picked up so much new vocabulary from him. Gagan is also very knowledgeble when it comes to languages (which is one of the reasons I originally wanted to learn from him) and he can explain and break things down for you when you need a bit of help. In short, I would really recommend him as a teacher and will be looking forward to more classes with him. :)

Gagan is a great teacher. He introduces new material slowly but steadily, so there is always something new and you don't feel like you're stagnating, but you also don't feel like you're being overwhelmed. It's a very good pace
