¡Hola! I’m Robert—a bilingual Texan with roots in Mexico and a TESOL-certified English/Spanish tutor. Growing up in Odessa, Texas, I accidentally became an ESL helper in high school (despite being a native speaker!). That’s where I discovered my knack for breaking down language barriers with patience and humor. Now back in Mexico, I specialize in **stress-free conversation practice**—whether you’re mastering English slang or Spanish idioms. I like to focus on English lessons that are interesting to my students, making them feel comfortable so they get more involved in the subject. One thing that I've always believed in, is practice makes perfect, that all though you may not be where you want to be, your continuous effort will eventually bring you closer to reach your goals.
My teaching style is to focus on your weaknesses. I know that's uncomfortable, but as time goes by, you'll see that the progress will be worth it. After all, we are here to learn. Robert is a truly wonderful Spanish teacher. He is incredibly kind and patient, and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere to practice language-learning. I really appreciate his ability to ask great questions to start a flow of conversation, and also how much he encourages pausing conversation to cover grammar points and vocabulary to help with the learning process. I found him to also have an incredible presence, and that he is an interesting person to talk with. I greatly look forward to more lessons with Robert, and highly recommend him to all!
