Hi, my name is Lea and I am a 33-year-old native German.
I spent some years in New Zealand, Australia, Chile, and Portugal.
Currently, I am in beautiful Plovdiv, in Bulgaria.
I have a background in pedagogy and 5 years of teaching experience with students aged 2-75, in groups and one on one lessons.
Being equally passionate about music and languages, I have decided to work both as a music and language teacher.Me as a Teacher
As your tutor I will help you:
1. to feel comfortable in everyday conversations in German.
2. to maintain motivation and to enjoy the process of acquiring a new language.
3. to become "your own best teacher" so you can make the most of learning on your own.
I see value in a lot of different methods of language learning. However, the best method is useless if you lose motivation halfway, and even with a less efficient method you can be successful in learning a language if you have fun doing it.
That is why I am convinced that maintaining passion and motivation should be on top of our priority list. My lessons & teaching style
I believe that our time is best spent having interesting and enjoyable conversations about whatever you are passionate about, as that is the one thing that is hard to practice on your own. However, I also think that exposing yourself to the language in your everyday life in as many ways as possible is important. I am happy to talk about different strategies with you on how to do that.
If it will help your progress I will create a structure for your learning language process and of course, help out with grammar explanations etc. if necessary.

Ich habe seit sechs Monaten mit Lea zusammengearbeitet und habe nur Gutes zu sagen. Von Anfang an war sie super hilfsbereit und unterstützend und half mir, die Anfängerphasen der Sprache zu durchlaufen, in denen ich nichts sagen konnte, bis jetzt, wo ich sinnvolle (wenn auch kaputte) Gespräche führen kann. Sie ist eine großartige Kommunikatorin dank ihrer klaren Erklärungen und ausgezeichneten Englischkenntnisse, kann Gespräche über eine Vielzahl von Themen führen, von intellektuell, lustig, ernst, und alles dazwischen und es ist insgesamt eine Freude, mit ihr zu arbeiten. Leah took the time to go over a learning style and goals that suit my learning methods. The lesson was fun, personalised and engaging as well as giving me a guideline on where to take my self-study.

I just completed my second lesson with Lea and we built off of what we discussed in the first. We worked on present and present perfekt tenses. We also worked on the variations of the sentences when it is in relation to other people. Lea does a great job at listening and helping bridge the gaps.
