I have 6 years of teaching experience, and am largely self taught in 10 languages w/ a degree in German + 150-hour TEFL certification. I understand linguistic challenges and psychological struggles that hold us back (perfectionism, self criticism, guilt, heritage languages, etc.). My goal is to help you reach your goals by making your learning effective, sustainable, and enjoyable for life. I structure students' lessons according to learning style and goals, focusing on the whole person they are behind their studies. Therefore, building long term student relationships is very important to my work. I find different ways to explain a concept and understand how to energize my lessons through new material and adapt to your preferred learning style, staying patient, determined and flexible to only offer the best in helping students from A0 to C1. I will avoid using English as much as possible and urge my students to do the same, unless otherwise noted. I will adapt our conversations to what you enjoy talking about and/or specific grammar points. I give homework when requested, usually PDFs, slides, or other resources for grammar, writing, listening, and/or reading (if you want to focus on one in particular, let me know!). **When you contact me for a lesson, please include what you believe your level to be, how long you have been learning, your language background, and what type of learner you are.

Today I completed a trial lesson with Emily. I often get nervous speaking in German because I don't have many opportunities to use the language, but Emily asked a lot of great open ended questions that were challenging and interesting.
