Hello! I’m a friendly, outgoing teacher from the UK with over 3 years experience teaching group and 1-to-1 lessons with refugees, asylum seekers and other non-native speakers. I have been lucky enough to have travelled quite a lot, learning about other languages, cultures and people as I go. Most recently I spent over a year and a half cycling all the way from Canada to Bolivia.
When I’m not teaching, I keep busy cycling, walking, organising community events and managing a project to reduce food waste - feel free to ask me about this! My lessons can be as structured or informal as you’d like - most importantly I want you to enjoy yourself to learn in the most effective way possible.
Me as a Teacher
I have over 3 years experience teaching non-native English speakers, helping with anything from everyday conversation to job applications and CV/resume writing, to focusing on more specific tasks and pieces of work. I have spoken Spanish from a young age and for me, the language-learning process is ongoing and always helps me improve my understanding of teaching.
I will always encourage opportunities to practise conversation and natural flow during our lessons, using media, texts or a variety of topics to discuss. I can provide these as regularly as you want to give you practise with topic of interest outside of lessons.
My lessons & teaching style
Your lessons will always be personalised for to help achieve your learning goals and ambitions. To start our lessons, we’ll have a conversation to discuss your objectives which I will use to focus our future classes.
We can work on improving English conversation, but I can also teach specific classes for work or education purposes including:
- CV and resumé writing
- writing job applications
- interview practise
- essay writing
- giving presentations
I can proofread written work and we can use lesson time to correct and improve them together. I will provide resources (text, videos, audio) for practise and set assignments for you to complete if they would be helpful for your learning.

Teacher’s pick
It’s been a month since I met Greg and every lesson has been fantastic so far. Greg is a kind, patient conversationalist, and has a wide variety of interests that he is willing to share with you. It’s always great to talk to him.

Greg is a wonderful teacher. He explains everything I asked clearly and patiently. Special thanks to the notes with main mistakes I make during the class. It helps me to improve my grammar skills.

There’s always something new I pick up and learn. This lesson was no exception! Not only does Greg bring up wonderful topics but also tries to make them even more interesting by having different kinds of conversations. Looking forward to another one!

Fantastic class - as always! It was nice to talk about a subject that I'm not used to. Out of my comfort zone, I could learn some new vocabulary, and that was great. Thanks, Greg!
