Hello, everyone! I am Elena. I am from Guangzhou, a city in south China.
My Chinese name is Jiaxian; I am a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese.
I have been working as a language school teacher in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English for over five years. I mainly teach international students. In the classroom, I teach the language and share cultural and historical knowledge.Me as a Teacher
I already have 5years of experience in online teaching, with certification to teach Chinese and English to adults and children. Also, I have completed IELTS teacher training courses with a certificate.
When I was in New Zealand for a working holiday a few years ago, I realized that learning their language is always the best way to know more about different cultures. That's why I want to help people who learn about the Chinese language and culture. At the same time, I am committed to supporting Chinese students in improving their spoken English and preparing them for studying and working in an English language environment.My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is patient, kind, and friendly. We can discuss whatever you need help with, whether reading, writing, listening, or speaking. I like to personalize the content to suit better topics that you are interested in and keep you engaged.
I used to work in the retail and management industry and enjoy communicating with people. We would have many topics for our conversation, such as travel, business, daily life, etc. I hope my class can make you feel comfortable practicing as much as possible.

She made learning fun, and our lesson was well-structured yet flexible, allowing me to speak a lot without feeling lost or unsure of what to say. Having conversation practice with Elena is very comfortable and very easy to understand. If I got lost or didn't know a word, she would explain it to me and write down the word. The reading material went well, and I was able to learn new things as we went through. She also asked me questions about my experience related to the topic to back up what we just went through.

We went through new material today. Whenever I didn't know the word for something, my teacher would always explain it to me and write down the character. My teacher would always ask me questions as usual to back up my understanding, and comment as we went through the reading exercises, making them feel lively.
