I have been teaching Swedish for a couple of years and I have a good idea which words are important if you want to be able to communicate with people in real life. I have had students that hardly knew the alphabet when I started to teach them and I have had students that already spoke quite good Swedish when I met them. I am flexible as a teacher and I try to adapt my teaching to what my students need. I am interested in history, literature, sports and the Beatles among other things. If you already speak some Swedish these could be subjects to talk about during the lessons. I also play guitar and I like the outdoors. I am not very keen on cooking, but I like to bake. Hi! I think it is important to practise talking during the lessons, but I also think it is important to have a subject to talk about so there is some structure to the conversation.. For example I could write a short story where I introduce a few new words. We read the story together and then we talk about it. I use Skype when I am teaching. I do not offer proofreading for school essays.

Joakim is legendary! Even if you take Swedish lessons for 1000 years, you will never find a teacher better than him.

I never learnt a language with such an organised person who is always well prepared for every spontaneous demand and situation. I am very ambitious and very spontaneous, but this doesn't seem a problem at all. Thank you so much, Joakim, for your patience and flexibility ! It's awesome !!! :)

Joakim is an amazing teacher. He can make conversation about pretty much anything, all while seamlessly correcting mistakes and helping build vocabulary and pronunciation. He is relaxed, patient, and his material is both solid and a great way to start discussions. I really recommend him as a teacher, especially if you want to improve your speaking.

Joakim is, as always, a very engaged and supportive teacher! I really appreciate all the energy and positive vibes he always puts into our time together. It really helps a lot to keep going with the never-ending struggle of learning Swedish.

I enjoyed my lesson with Joachim! I wanted to talk about The Beatles, so we had a warm, engaging, and genuinely interesting conversation. We also managed to talk about so many other things, which made the lesson feel very natural. Joachim has such positive energy, it was a real pleasure to talk to him!
