Hi! My name is Mike. I'm a native English speaker from the United States. I grew up and still live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I graduated from Colorado State University in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Biology. I love teaching and learning. I hold a TESOL certificate from Arizona State University. I've been teaching English for 3 years in the classroom and online. My goal as an English teacher is to help my students achieve their goals. In the short term this means giving them the basic tools they will need to communicate, including vocabulary, knowledge of grammar, and the opportunity to practice in a comfortable environment. In the long term it means helping students gain confidence in their English and giving them the tools they need to continue learning. I like to combine grammar lessons with listening and speaking. This allows students to immediately practice what they are learning so they acquire the language rather than just memorize it. I look forward to meeting you!

The lesson was very interesting! I've learned a lot of new words and Mike explained me where I was wrong in some talking. We started talking of a video he sent me for "homework" and so we begint to talk about contemporary books and problems. Very interesting!
