🔵 Bonjour !
My name's Emma and I teach French on Italki.
I was born and grew up in France, in the Loire Valley. I currently live in that area but I also lived and worked in Central Asia some time ago. I like walking, gardening, reading, going to the cinema and travelling in my country and abroad. I really enjoy meeting people and visiting new places. I also like playing my cello and I am learning Russian.
I am a native French speaker and I also speak English and a little German, Spanish and Russian.
So as a teacher but also as a student, I do know how difficult (but so interesting and rewarding) learning a language can be !Me as a Teacher
⚪ I am a fully qualified teacher. I have a Master's degree in teaching French as a foreign language (including linguistic theories and didactics).
I have taught in France in a language school and abroad at the Alliance Française and in a secondary school.
I am an enthusiastic, supportive and conscientious teacher. I really want my students to feel at ease with me and have confidence in their learning.
Learning in a positive atmosphere is one of the keys to success.My lessons & teaching style
🔴 I teach general French to adults from a beginner level (A0-A1) to an upper intermediate level (B2).
My lessons are based on the Common European Framework or Reference (CEFR) and on the communicative and action-orientated approach.
My lessons are "VIP lessons" : Very Interactive and Productive ;-).
My exercises are interactive and I use different materials in order to practice, develop and improve every skill (speaking, reading, writing and listening).
What also matters to me is that you speak French as much as possible during our lessons. The more you speak, the more you have confidence!
I also give conversation classes (A1-C2) and exam preparation class (DELF A1-B2).My teaching material

Just finished my lesson with Emma, and as always, it was especially fruitful and enriching. She is constantly encouraging and she shows her utmost support whenever we do work. As a student, I feel that her way of teaching is greatly effective and implausibly enjoyable. Aside from work, she makes the great and commendable effort to make conversations with me (in French, of course) and takes the time to get to know me. Having her as my French teacher has definitely provided me with the abundant opportunity to actively work on the language and improve on it. Adding on to that, her lessons are greatly organised and structured, which in turn allows me to understand the language clearly. I feel greatly comforted and that I am always in a safe space whenever we have our lessons. I truly would recommend her as a teacher.
