Spanish & English Teacher · University of Buenos Aires Literature Graduate · Children & Adults Hi! I'm Franco, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been teaching Spanish on italki since 2020: If you're a complete beginner, don't worry. My lessons are for everyone. Just because I know a lot about grammar doesn't mean I'll explain it in a complicated way. I'll make it easy to understand so you can make real progress. My goal is for you to make progress fast. You'll speak Spanish from the very first lesson. We practice real conversation, and I focus on the grammar you actually need, one step at a time. Every lesson starts from what you need, so the first thing we do is work that out together. I keep a personal Google Doc for each student with all your vocabulary, notes and corrections, so you can always see how much you've improved. I share my screen to go through materials and images, and I'll recommend good dictionaries and online tools. I like to assign homework, customized for each student so it never feels boring. I work with comics, books, fables, podcasts and dialogue stories. I teach standard Latin American Spanish and, if you like, the Rioplatense Spanish we speak in Buenos Aires. I also prepare students for the DELE exams. I hold a BA in Literature from the University of Buenos Aires, with a concentration in Classics and coursework in linguistics, literary theory, and Spanish, Latin American and Argentine literature. Along the way I studied Latin, Ancient Greek and Sanskrit. I'm part of research projects on medieval Spanish and ancient literature.

Franco is a very fun teacher! He is patient, helpful, and very well educated about grammar. However, he is also fun and likes to make the lessons enjoyable by talking about things that are interesting to me and well as telling me about what is going on around him. I would recommend him to any student of any level, but especially students who really want to understand the Spanish grammar.
