Great first lesson with Sam! I am an American Born Chinese so I know accents and a bit of vocabulary (know enough to order food in a Chinese restaurant), but need help with everything else. Sam was very patient and mapped out a comprehensive curriculum, which I'm excited to start. Highly recommend!!

Today we started the lesson with warmup conversation, which led to a discussion of words relating to extreme weather and temperature zones. These warm up lessons are very useful, because I always end up learning new words that are relevant to my every day conversation. We then moved on to some HSK for dialogues, which had new vocabulary, structures and grammar. Lots of opportunity for speaking and pronunciation practice. Another great lesson – thanks, Sam!

Today, after some conversational practice, we reviewed my answers to some questions about friends that I wrote for homework. We then reviewed an introduction I wrote about one of my friends. We covered a lot of new vocab and grammar in the process - this was a very useful lesson – thanks, Sam! Another great lesson!
