Sylvia (Kids&Adults)

Sylvia is a very attentive teacher. You will feel at ease with her as your chinese teacher. she is also good with children as i have introduced her to my nieces and they love learning chinese with her.

Simply perfect! She uses Chinese all the time and try teaching by immersion. I am so happy to have found her. I have been practicing speaking and learning much more.

It was a great lesson with you Sylvia! I am learning alot and I'm so excited to continue learning with you. The tones are a tad bit hard for me, but I think I'll keep slowly getting better with them. Same with my pronunciation, it's a little difficult, but I feel like I'm getting slightly better each day with it. See you in the next class!

It was a great first lesson. We did it over Skype and there was a little bit of static/noise but we did our lesson just fine. I like Sylvia's method of teaching, it was very low-stress, and I felt like I learned a lot. I would highly recommend Sylvia if you're looking for a Chinese teacher.

I booked lessons for the summer with Sylvia and continue to. I can say, from someone whose level and understanding of Chinese was very limited, Sylvia has been an immense help in improving my Chinese language skills and confidence. All credit goes to her. She is very patient, kind and fun to be learning Chinese from. All the attributes that make her such a great tutor and teacher. I can confidently say that my Chinese has improved within a few weeks than in the 2 years from my uni course. She personalises her lessons, which has really worked for me as she caters to both my strengths and weaknesses. Offering free time to talk about anything, making notes to reflect on, and handing out homework to ground and understand vocabulary and grammar. Her teaching methods have enhanced my confidence in all aspects of Chinese, especially speaking and listening, which have been such a struggle prior. I can't recommend Sylvia enough to anyone trying to learn Chinese from any level! 谢谢! 下节课见! 🩵

This is my fifth lesson with Sylvia, and I absolutely love her! 🩷 She’s incredibly kind, funny, friendly, and patient and makes me feel much less anxious during class. She gently corrects my pronunciation and always gives me the time I need to improve. She also provided a clear lesson plan and is always prepared. 📚 If there’s one Mandarin teacher anyone should choose on italki, it’s Sylvia! 🌟😊
