Hallo! I’m Mandy, a native German teacher from northern Germany, specialising in German for Tourism, Conversation Practice, and General German. Having lived in the UK for many years before settling in Spain, I understand the challenges of starting a new life abroad; from everyday situations to workplace communication. My experiences help me support students in reaching their personal and professional goals in German. I have a degree in language studies with a focus on language and creativity and have promoted language learning in British schools. In my free time, I enjoy life with my dog and exploring both old and new hobbies.Me as a Teacher
As a teacher, I prioritise kindness and patience, having gone through the language learning process myself, I understand that it's not always a linear journey. Sometimes you find it easy, while at other times it can be frustrating. I want to help you overcome any obstacles that you encounter in your learning journey and ensure that you enjoy the process, while keeping a relaxed atmosphere. I also believe in holistic and human-centered learning and I want students to become curious and confident learners. I encourage all my students to bring questions and observations into the lessons as you will learn most when you are really engaged in the process.My lessons & teaching style
In our lessons, we'll mainly focus on conversation so that you can express yourself freely and find your authentic "German" voice. It's important to maximise our speaking time and work on automising your knowledge, so you will feel more confident. Together, we'll explore new vocabulary, work on grammar, and improve pronunciation. Grammar will always be integrated in topics as you'll remember it best when it is taught in context and not in isolation. It is also more fun and less dry :) I'm flexible and happy to structure our lessons based on your unique needs and interests, so you can get the most out of each session.My teaching material
