Hello everyone!
My name is Awa. I am deeply passionate about the brain, learning languages, and teaching them. I am fluent in Wolof, French, and English and proficient in Spanish. Currently, I am delving into German, Russian, Arabic, and Mandarin. Learning a new language doesn't have to be boring—it's a life-changing skill. We develop a unique personality in each language we learn, broadening our perspectives on the world, and other cultures and societies. I love traveling and am always ready for the next adventure. With years of teaching languages to kids and adults under my belt, I've learned what works best. My teaching methods are based on how our memory works and lessons I've learned from my own language-learning experiences. Instead of focusing on memorizing vocabulary lists, I say LET'S START SPEAKING FROM DAY 1! Unlike typical classes that stress too much on grammar and writing, I put the spotlight on improving speaking and listening skills. TWO KEY PRINCIPLES: EXPOSURE and ASSOCIATION
My approach to teaching deviates from the conventional classroom style which, in my experience, can often be dull. Instead, I aim to immerse you in the language you're learning, introducing EXPOSURE from DAY 1. This immersion is achieved by connecting new words and phrases with familiar elements in your environment, crafting CONVERSATION naturally and seamlessly. I'm also a big believer in adaptability and will tailor my teaching style to your specific needs and suggestions, ensuring you have the most effective learning experience.5.0
