Hello Italki community!
My name is David, I am from Germany but have been living for the last 7 years in different countries around the world. From Australia, via the Netherlands, Spain and Costa Rica I found my way to Cusco, Peru. I am a nature lover and enjoy challenging myself by moving to new places and emerging myself into their culture and (different) way of living. Experiencing, reflecting and learning. Then start again.
My professional education is in psychology with an particular focus on health psychology, non-formal education and coaching. Also, I completed a master's degree in International Peace, Conflict and Development Studies.

I started my teaching path in 2015 with completing an additional training in 'Teaching Skills' within my psychology degree. This course enabled me to teach subjects related to psychology e.g. communication and diagnostic skills to first- and second-year students at the university.
During this time, I became really passioned about teaching and education that I continued the path by teaching English and German language skills in a variety of contexts. For instance, I taught English at a primary school in Spain. Also, I was working at a language academy (Inlingua), teaching German to people of all age in small group settings. However, mostly I worked in one-to-one session in private contexts.My lessons & teaching style
By working in one-to-one session, I have the chance to adapt to my students needs and wishes creating thereby personal relevant material and content. Everyone has a different way of learning and it's my job to figure out what works best for you. In my opinion, learning a new language should be fun, playful and natural!
Just as a child approaches his environment with curiosity, I will support you in finding your personal entrance and access to the new language. My focus will be on conversational skills, since this will you quickly move forwards and then filling in the gaps with new vocabulary and grammar. Depending on your goals, I will provide you with extra material and homework.My teaching material

TeacherInlingua is a international private language academy. I taught German (all levels) to different groups and individuals of all ages. Inlingua works with a conversational style teaching program and has different books with exercises etc. to complement the classes.
For instance, I had two main groups (adults and children) of 2-5 students and additional private classes outside the academy.
2017 - 2018

I used the „life coach“ lessons and It was wonderful. David has good listening ear, and knows just when to ask the key questions. We worked on my life path in general, with a focus on health and stress reduction. If you need a boost, and want to practice your German along the way, here is a patient and caring speaking partner.

I had 10 classes with David to improve my spoken German, although I already had the B2 certificate. I needed to be more fluent. He is indeed a great teacher and very enthusiastic. I've made great progress during his classes.
David also helped me to prepare for a job interview and to get my spoken german skills to the next level. He was really helpful, always encouraging and prepared.
I truly recommended him to practice both german as well as to practice the language in a more formal context such as a job interview.
