Living in Venice, Italy

14 years of teaching experience but it's always a new adventure My name is GULIA I come from a small town near Venice. I lived and worked as Italian teacher in many countries: Portugal, Perù, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Colombia and South Africa. I have learnt a lot and that helps me to be a better teacher. I love nature, art, music, sport, reading, movies, astronomy. I also speak English, Spanish and some French and Portuguese, studying a foreign language helps me understand the challenges and weaknesses of my students. I am a qualified teacher of Italian language and culture (first and second level Master degree)I am also an examiner for CELI, PLIDA and CILS exams. The best compliment I ever received from a student is: "Giulia you have big ears". It's really important to know what students like, what are the most challenging parts of the language for them, to predict their mistakes and help them learn from them. I have though to students coming from 51different countries, it's always a new challenge. Research shows that when you are happy and do fun things you learn quickly and effectively, it's true. I always aim to create and maintain a positive and harmonious atmosphere when working together. Learning a language means opening your mind to new ideas. It's a challenge but with the right method and a bit of curiosity it's an adventure. I like to organise my lessons in a dynamic and fun way and to propose activities that allow you to use the language since the beginning.Let's start from what you are curious about and then work...

This was only my first lesson, but Giulia was extremely pleasant, warm, friendly, very disarming. This is immeasurably important when you are feeling intimidated to speak a new language you are learning. In addition to that she is very clearly extremely competent and experienced as a teacher. I am looking forward to continuing my education in speaking Italian with her one on one.

I had an Italian lesson and it was amazing! Her teaching style is clear, patient, and fun. She explained everything in a way that made it easy to follow and gave me confidence to actually speak in Italian. I walked away from just one lesson feeling motivated and excited to learn more!

Giulia was very kind, patient and energetic. This was an introductory lesson, and she immediately put me at ease with her teaching style. I can't wait for our next lesson!
