I've only completed a 30 minute introductory lesson with Jennifer so it's tough to give an in depth review. With that being said, I would highly recommend booking an intro lesson with her. She's a fantastic instructor who strikes me as a kind and caring individual. My initial plan was to try a few different instructors on the platform before selecting someone long term. But I enjoyed my time with Jennifer so much, that plan has changed. Looking forward to our next lesson! Brian

Jennifer is a gem! Aside from being just a really good teacher, she is also very flexible. This is a quality a student might overlook when considering an instructor, but it is important during the lessons to keep them engaging, as well as when it comes to maintaining the consistent practice that is key to language learning. Jennifer has been very accommodating when I request lessons at shorter notice due to my random work schedule. This has helped me stay on track and learn at a satisfying pace. Additionally, Jennifer adeptly manages to stick to her prepared plan and, also, tie-in spontaneous input from questions or observations I bring to the lesson.

Very productive class! Jennifer explains word usage very clearly and gave helpful suggestions to improve my sentences.

9 months learning update. I have written a few reviews about Jennifer and felt that another was due regarding my progress under her teaching. In short, I wish I had started with Jennifer from the very beginning of my Chinese learning process. It would have saved me time (and in the long run money) because I have made much bigger leaps in my vocabulary usage and comprehension than I would have thought possible. That is in large part due to the confidence Jennifer instills. The right environment helps you learn better, and Jennifer provides one that makes it fun and easy to push yourself and make breakthroughs.

I have been taking lessons with Jennifer for about 3 months now; and I can’t say enough positive things about her. My Chinese lessons have become trice-weekly high points that I eagerly anticipate. My assessment of Jennifer is from the perspective of being both an anxious learner and a fellow language teacher (ESL). As a teacher, Jennifer, keeps each lesson focused and productive so that you finish the class feeling your time has been well spent and enriched with new knowledge. We cover a lot of information, but always at a pace and level that is comfortable for me. She is, also, very skilled at gently challenging you to trust in what you know and to present it. I am often surprised at what I can actually say, and have also retained, due to her engaging personality, and our lively interactions. I don’t expect to become fluent quickly, but I do feel very confident that I will get to a level of satisfying proficiency, sooner than I had believed, before starting my lessons with Jennifer.
