かな先生 is an amazing tutor for anyone new to, or struggling with, learning Japanese. She’s patient, kind, and an overall warm person to talk to. Her lessons are casual yet focused, and she’s always ready to help when you can’t quite find the right words. She takes the time to understand your needs and adapts her teaching style to suit you. As someone who often struggles to express myself in the language, she’s given me both confidence and greater motivation to keep learning. It has been a wonderful experience learning with her so far, and I look forward to our future lessons. I would highly recommend her on italki to anyone who wants to learn Japanese.

I’ve done about 30 lessons with Kana by now and I can tell you she is a really great teacher. She is great at explaining grammar, she easily adapts lessons based on my learning style, she encourages me with her positive attitude and I also get to learn fun details about Japanese culture. These lessons are definitely among my highlights of the week. Highly highly recommended!

I always enjoy taking lessons with Kana-sensei! The style and environment really encourages me to use grammar and vocabulary that I'm not fully confident with, allowing me to make mistakes and learn the corrections. Every lesson feels like it builds on top of the last and I can see my steady improvement under Kana's teaching as a result!
