Tammy

I am taking the "Chinese Speaking Practice" course with Tammy, and have completed 5 lessons now. When I started, I asked for the classes to be immersive and for her to mainly speak to me using Chinese in order to help me with my listening skills. She has done just that. Even with 5 lessons, Im already able to "hear" vocabulary and comprehend sentences when she speaks. She also pushes me to create full sentences when speaking and doesn't let me get lazy with my communication. Because I can read pinyin and some chinese characters, she types out vocabulary words or sentence structures to help me better understand grammar concepts. I love that she does this in Chinese and not English as it further reenforces my understanding of the Chinese language. Her prices are also afforadable, which allows me to take multiple lessons a week (currently 4/week) which allows me to have consistent oral practice. If you want to start speaking Chinese naturally (not textbook), book a lesson with her.

Tammy is amazing! I had my first lesson today and it went by in a flash. She was patient, engaging, and was genuinely interested in what I was talking about. She always wrote down any words I didn't quite know or gave me better ways to express what I was trying to say. I would give 6 stars if I could. Will definitely be booking many, many more lessons :)

Lao Shi Tammy is an excellent teacher. Despite me having zero knowledge of Mandarin, she guided me through the session with ease and patience. I’ve always felt a little nervous about learning something new, but her interactive and encouraging approach makes me feel calm and confident during class. I’ll definitely be booking more sessions with her!
