Nice to meet you! I'm João Gabriel, a 24 year-old Brazilian passionate about languages and cultural exchange. Aside from being a language tutor, I work as a translator and I'm also an International Relations graduate so any topic related to it is more than welcome!
I will be glad to help you practice your Portuguese or English, providing tips to enrich your learning and cultural background. I love talking about music, literature, history, cooking and traveling!Me as a Teacher
I have been tutoring Portuguese and English for the last 5 years and fell in love completely with the experience.
I first started as an autonomous English tutor, online and in-person.
Then, expanding my network to language-learning platforms, I started tutoring Portuguese to Non-native Speakers and the feedback has been wonderful.
My students were mostly young-adults ranging from 19 to 60 years old. Although teaching kids is negotiable. :) My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are straight-forward, conversation-based, surrounding topics that interest the student, focusing on developing fundamentals skills for communication as well as cultural aspects of oral speech.My teaching material

Joao was absolutely wonderful! He has a very friendly demeanor and was able to coach me on words and phrases ranging from technical business jargon to slang I can expect to hear when I'm in Brazil. I've taken many in-person Portuguese classes over the years and I think I learned more in the past hour with Joao than I would in a week in a normal setting. I'm signing up for lesson #2 with Joao tomorrow! Highly recommend :)
