Living in Porto, Portugal

Greek traveler with years of teaching experience. I was born and raised in Athens, Greece. However, I have family abroad with whom I have been interacting, at least biannualy, since I was very young, plus, I love traveling both abroad and inside Greece. I studied biochemistry in Larissa, Greece for my bachelor and then I did my masters degree in marine biology in Faro, Portugal. Foreign languages are a passion of mine, along with music, yoga, snowboard and science. I like interacting with people, so I welcome the opportunity to help anyone in any way I can. I structured my studies in such way that I could learn all I could about teaching, by adding didactics and pedagogics in my curriculum. I have taught biology, chemistry and physics to young students between 14 and 18 years of age, for a couple of years, before I started teaching languages (English and Greek) to students of all age groups. Eventually, though I have taught subjects I was not specialised in, I ended up specialising more and more on teaching Greek, so I consider myself adaptable. I prefer question driven teaching (coming from both the student and teacher), in order to stimulate curiosity. When one's interest is peaked, information will be digested more easily and the process will be joyful. That is why I often choose the Montessori method of education, which is student centered. Moreover, I believe that education needs to be adapted to each student's needs, hence I am as flexible as possible and my teaching material will follow a creative flow.

August 10th , 2020 Today is the end of my first ever Greek Class with instructor/Daskalos Adam Galatoulas, which started on May 12th to August 10th. I have to say that it has been a wonderful experience and I have learned a lot thanks to the good organization and effective pedagogy used by my instructor. My Level 1 Greek Class started with basic sounds and interesting vocabulary that connects to many languages in the world. We continued with nouns and progressively we got to work with adjectives in full sentences. It was a positive language class and I am looking forward to my next Greek Class level 2 in September. Adam, Daskalos Galatoulas is very kind, respectful and he seems to care about his students, to the point that we can request repetition, pauses and even additional materials. He has a great spirit and I always felt connected and important in the class. Learning languages requires a positive environment and that starts with the instructor. Thanks for a great course!
