Olá! Tudo bem? Meu nome é Matheus, e sou do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil!
I graduated in Journalism and I have spent a significant amount of time teaching portuguese for foreigners students at my university. I love writing and speaking in portuguese and I currently work as a translator as well.
The class will be focus on conversation! It will help you to improve your accent and get the more commom expressions. I traveled all over the world, as a result we will have interesting talks.
I am an open minded person so you will improve your conversation skills if you are an intermediate student and want to reach a higher level.

In my hometown, I have taught portuguese for foreigners students in my university for about 4 years.
When I traveled to Cambodia I taught kids english and french in a small town. This experience helped me to be more sensitive and caring while I teach.My lessons & teaching style
As I said I have outstanding communication skills. It is one of my secrets to keep you focus.
My main goal when I teach is on conversations about topics you like the most. When you feel more comfortable about the conversation, naturally you will speak better.

Matheus is a great teacher - he is patient and gently corrects me in a way that doesn’t make me feel self-conscious. His English is strong, too, so he’s a good resource for when I don’t understand something in portuguese well enough. He’s also a cool and interesting guy! So it’s enjoyable talking with him. My first lesson with Matheus was great! He is very friendly and fun to talk to. I could tell he has a lot of experience teaching by the way that he directed the conversation, quickly evaluating and adapting to my current level. I like that he takes the time to explain grammar or vocabulary as needed during the conversation, although I'm sure he can adapt this to your preference. As someone who has studied Spanish and French, I also find it to be a huge plus that he is well-versed in Spanish and French as well, to help me notice when those languages creep into my Portuguese. If you want to learn Portuguese through real conversation with a patient, engaging teacher who can adapt to your specific needs, take a lesson with Matheus!
