Matheus is a great teacher - he is patient and gently corrects me in a way that doesn’t make me feel self-conscious. His English is strong, too, so he’s a good resource for when I don’t understand something in portuguese well enough. He’s also a cool and interesting guy! So it’s enjoyable talking with him. I highly recommend him!

Matheus has been an excellent conversation partner. He quickly gauged my level of proficiency and adapted his instruction to meet my needs. He's patient, easy to talk to, and provides constructive feedback that helps me improve my language skills.

My first lesson with Matheus was great! He is very friendly and fun to talk to. I could tell he has a lot of experience teaching by the way that he directed the conversation, quickly evaluating and adapting to my current level. I like that he takes the time to explain grammar or vocabulary as needed during the conversation, although I'm sure he can adapt this to your preference. As someone who has studied Spanish and French, I also find it to be a huge plus that he is well-versed in Spanish and French as well, to help me notice when those languages creep into my Portuguese. Matheus is a wonderful French tutor! He is a great conversationalist who is patient, speaks slowly, asks questions and guides me to better understand spoken French, improve my vocabulary, sentence structure and pronunciation. As a nomad who speaks many languages and has travelled the world, Matheus can empathize with students on their learning journey to adapt his teaching style and can discuss any broad range of conversation topics. Had a great first trial class with Matheus. I’m at high intermediate level so really focusing on conversation. He is a really cool guy and asked lots of questions during it which gave me an opportunity to speak a lot within 30 minutes. He corrected me when I made grammatical errors but did it in a way where the conversation was able to flow. He also added corrections in the lesson chat so I was able to note these down.
