I am really passionate about learning and teaching languages. These days I spent a few hours on learning Spanish and English and teaching German. I am really interested in how the brain functions when learning a new language and I get extremely excited when my students make progress. Seeing them getting more confident is why I love teaching German. I have varied interests and am capable of talking about a lot of topics. Back then when I travelled the world I noticed that a foreign language can completely change the whole experience. It broadens your horizons and enables you to come into contact with completely strangers in other countries.Me as a Teacher
I started teaching German when there was a refugees wave in 2015. I helped migrants achieve B2+ level in German and which went a long way to improved their job prospects.
I spent the year 2020 traveling and noticed that there is a high demand for German everywhere. I am now currently living in Germany again. I started studying Architecture but I quickly noticed I need to something related to languages. During the last 1 and a half year I had over 700 lessons with people all over the world. I have experience with all age groups, people who knew nothing to advanced learners.

I am a genuine language instructor and I approach my training on a student-required base. I am adaptable to your learning requirements. I am not driven by a formular/based learning but more towards the individual. I try to get you ready for real life conversations and make you feel confident. I have done a lot of research about how to memorize new words and grammar rules. One of my styles include learning in full sentences instead of cramming vocabulary. When I implemented that into my lessons I started seeing incredible results with my students. I also only want you to learn German based on topics you are interested in but I could also make the choice.My teaching material

Always a great session with Theo, even after weeks of not practicing he has a very encouraging and engaging way or looping you back in. I really appreciate his teaching style and can honestly say he is the best tutor I have come across for German.

Lessons with Theo are always great he is super patient and reliable. With him you feel like you can speak German without worrying a lot about your grammar mistakes ( which in German usually it’s very easy to make one let’s face it 😅) , he always provides you with corrections in a way that doesn’t break the flow of the conversation and on top of that he is a cool guy.

I have had several lessons now with Theo. I give him a 5-star rating as a community tutor because: (1) he smiles a lot!; (2) he allows the student to speak, but gently interrupts to correct mistakes; and (3) he writes down corrections and suggestions that I can review later (my last 45 min lessons included 25 notes made by Theo).

Theo is one of a kind. Even after not being consistent with German and taking a long break he makes you feel comfortable to get back to learning and he creates a very inviting and welcoming atmosphere.
