My name is Josep and I am from Barcelona, Spain. I am a freelance Spanish, Catalan and French teacher and translator. During my studies, I obtained a Diploma in Translation and Interpretation and a Certification in Education (C.A.P), at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. I love languages, teaching, travelling to other countries, foreign cultures, swimming and meditation. My mother tongues are Spanish and Catalan and I speak perfect French, English and a little bit of Italian and Russian. I got a certification in Education (C.A.P) specialised in teaching languages, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2007. I also got a certification in Teaching Spanish as a foreign language at Cálamo & Cran, Barcelona. My experience in teaching in France, Spain and Ireland has allowed me to improve my language skills, as well as to increase my ability to adapt to new cultures and environments. I have been teaching at High Schools in France, as a language instructor for companies in Barcelona and Paris, and in private lessons during my years in these countries. I love helping and motivating students improve their language skills, which makes them return to me for more lessons.My lessons & teaching style
I prepare interactive, fun, efficient and engaging activities to different types of learners, from beginner to advanced levels. Everything is adapted and customized to your needs and motivations: travel, business, academics, integration in a country, etc. I work with Google documents, screensharing, online ressources, textbooks, articles and images. I normally use Skype and Zoom, but I am open to other platforms if required. I encourage students learning and consolidating important concepts. I focus on oral expression to make you feel confident and motivate you to learn more. But according to your needs, I can adapt the lesson more to writing or grammar purposes.My teaching material

In total I had more than 200 lessons with Josep and he helped me to reach a very high level en Català, almost from level zero to level C1. He always motivated me to keep going when things got difficult and supported me always to reach my goals.
Josep organized perfect and adequat material for each lesson and always corrected my exercises and tasks that I did at home. The lessons are always well prepared, competent, varied and makes fun.

Además de saber mucho, aclara todas mis dudas con paciencia, ejemplos y material.
Me cuesta hablar el idioma pero con él me siento muy segura y puedo.

I have now undertaken ~30 Catalan lessons with Josep, starting from almost scratch about 6 months ago. I engaged Josep to help me learn Catalan so I can better speak with my partner's family and friends in Lleida. Having tried numerous other teachers, Josep was definitely the most engaging, supportive, and helpful teacher I've had. He uses fresh materials weekly, helps prioritize learning vocab and grammar that help me near-term, all whilst educating me about important Catalan tradition and culture. Having just returned from a trip to Catalunya - I can confirm the lessons mean I understand and can participate a lot more!
I am now working with Josep to complete my B1 certification in May, and certainly plan to continue working with him as far as I can.
For reference, I am a monolingual native English speaker, and have found Josep brilliant for helping me grasp my first real foregin language to learn, he has a solid approach regardless of the motiviation or base level of knowledege.
