Hi! My name is Tom from Plymouth, England and I can't wait to talk to you.
I have lived in UK, Australia and Spain and I speak English, Spanish and I am learning German on italki currently.
I can talk about almost everything except for films. I haven't even seen Toy Story. Sorry.
Despite that, I love to play, talk about and listen to music. I love sport, especially football and my team is Plymouth Argyle (yes, you probably don't know us. We are not in the EPL).Me as a Teacher
Please note, I do not teach children unfortunately. There are lots of better qualified people on here who'd be able to do it more effectively than me.
As a language learner, I understand you and I understand how hard it is to learn a language.
Therefore, the emphasis in our classes will be to allow YOU to speak. I understand that the most important thing for a conversation partner is patience and I have a lot. I will listen to YOU, I will take an interest in YOU and YOUR life and I will speak and learn about the things that YOU love.
My main interests are in sport, music, travel, language (culture in general) and politics.My lessons & teaching style
Mostly through conversation but I have taught actresses/singers before who wanted me to help with their pronunciation.
I have a wide range of grammatical exercises for beginners-advanced speakers and so I am happy to prepare these if you want.
I will make the classes personal and specific to YOU. Your learning and enjoyment is my priority.My teaching material

Tom is an amazing person to speak to on italki. He always has interesting unusual questions and it’s easy to discuss any topic with him (from who is the most beautiful you ever seen - to how would you prefer to be buried lol). I’m not a super confident speaker but Tom provides good support so I never felt uncomfortable or uptight to practice during our classes.

I already had 5 classes with Tom. I am completely satisfied with the way my conversation skills are developing. Tom keeps up the conversation very well - asks interesting questions and answers my questions in a fascinating way. He is attentive to what I say and often offers options for how I could say better. I strongly recommend him if you want to improve your English.
