About Me

I am Irish, currently living in beautiful Malaga, Spain. I have been teaching on Italki for over 2 years. My degree is in English.
The majority of my career has been either Teaching English or caring for elderly people/ disabled people.
I know how challenging learning a new language is because at the moment I am B2 in Spanish , and it is so hard to not make mistakes!
I enjoy hiking with my friends, having Tapas, dancing and travel.
I am also interested in social justice and engage in activism for fair health care.
I love meeting students from across the world and am knowledgeable regarding politics, current affairs and many interesting topics. I am an excellent listener.Me as a Teacher
I have taught English in Peru, Argentina & Spain. I also taught Creative Writing workshops in the UK & have helped older people & the learning disabled write their stories. I am very patient, astute & considerate.
I am empathic and use my empathy & intuition to help gauge how students feel and what they need, quickly. I'm mild mannered which means my classes are full of healthy communication, balance, confidence- building & variety.
I'm highly articulate, a skilled speaker , a freelance writer & avid reader. It's important to me that you enjoy my class.
I gain happiness from seeing my students having fun, feeling at ease & making progress. I have many eclectic resources for teaching too.My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are based on the skills and material I have gathered for over seven years of teaching. My teaching style is adaptable to the personality & preferences of my student, bearing in mind their confidence, age, personality & fluency. I like to be well prepared & have lesson plans, but I also like to be sometimes spontaneous and I like my classes to be fun, varied, interactive (with a balance of me talking & them talking). I like to use many types of material and keep things energetic. These include online articles, worksheets, videos, listening resources, grammar book PDFs, games, worksheets etc. I keep things relevant to interests & needs. 매우 좋다. 선생님과의 수업은 너무 만족스럽다. 선생님은 항상 질문하고 잘 들어주고 틀린것도 바로 고쳐주신다. 모든 문장마다 고쳐주진 않으시고 적절하게 고쳐주시는것 같다. 숙제를 주시는데 숙제에 대한 피드백을 수업시간에 같이하면서 질문을 하시고, 계속 다른 문장을 말하도록 도와주신다. 선생님과의 수업은 즐겁고 편안하다. 매우 추천하고싶다!!!

She keeps me talking and helps me changing as easy expressions. Her lessons are fun. I can prepare for the next lesson through homework, and I can practice and review by asking many questions during class. She is a very friendly teacher who helped me to continue studying English at Italki. If you study with her, you will quickly feel that your English skills are improving!!! 👍🏼

진짜 많이 배웁니다. 선생님만의 방식으로 말하기, 쓰기, 듣기, 문법이 다 포함되어있습니다. 틀려도 편하게 자신감있게 말하는게 중요한데, 가끔 콩글리쉬인줄도 모르고 말하면 다시 말하게 시키는데 아... 이게 잘못된 습관이구나 반성하게되요!! 선생님은 확실히 저의 영어를 발전시켜주고 있습니다. 강추합니다!!
