About Me

I am Wietske, 31 years old and currently living in Oslo, Norway. I grew up in the Netherlands (Friesland, the northern part), but later moved to Utrecht and to The Hague. Me learning Norwegian inspired me to also get involved as a community tutor for helping people to learn Frisian. I am working full time and do iTalki on the side, so I have limited availability. If you are interested but cannot find a time that suits you, feel free to send me a message to see if there are other options.

Me as a Teacher

I am a positive, relaxed, and flexible teacher, and I hope to make the experience of learning a new language mainly fun and motivating!

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons, and the used material, will depend on the individual I am teaching. We could practice reading (news) articles or just have 'daily' conversations. Mostly: I find it important that you feel comfortable practicing Frisian with me!

I've been waiting years for a Frisian teacher on Italki, so I'm so glad Wietske joined the site. I enjoyed chatting with her and she was extremely patient with my limited and rusty Frisian. Recommended to those who want to learn Frisian (and you really should!) Tankewol, oant sjen!
