Hello, I’m Gavin — a London-born English teacher with over ten years of experience, currently based in Spain. I specialize in exam preparation and am a certified Cambridge Examiner. In addition, I have extensive experience preparing students for the APTIS exam.

I can confidently recommend Gavin as a lecturer. He is a professional, but at the same time very friendly and easygoing person. What should be admitted, Gavin is open to adjust for current learning goals, being flexible in the matter of lecture topic scheduling, as well as he is willing to dive deeper into topics that can be found challenging.

Las clases con Gavin son muy amenas y divertidas. Consigue que además de aprender y consolidar conocimientos la hora se pase volando. Nunca deja una duda sin responder, ni ningún error sin corregir y siempre tiene tiene material preparado con el que trabajar. Gavin es un chico muy paciente, amable y profesional. Gavin iba tomando notas en un archivo de Google Docs mientras hablábamos dividiendo estas anotaciones de acuerdo a la temática (gramática, pronunciación, vocabulario, etc) y me compartió ese archivo. Se ofreció a que yo pueda dejar cosas escritas en el archivo para que el pudiera corregir mi escritura y además habla muy bien español dado que está hace mucho tiempo en España y eso me dió la posibilidad de que me ayude a traducir expresiones que son muy típicas del español y la verdad es que es bueno tener a hablante nativo.

Llevo 13 clases con él y la verdad es que es muy buen profesor. Estoy preparando el nivel C1 y lo explica todo con ejemplos que te hacen entender los conceptos a la primera. No es el típico profesor con acento británico cerrado al que no entiendes, sino todo lo contrario. El hecho de que hable español es un plus, ya que hay veces no sé muy cómo explicar algo y él encuentra la forma de hacerlo. Tiene bastante material (libros, tests, etc.) que facilita el aprendizaje. Además, hace que las clases sean muy amenas y divertidas (me río mucho con él).
