Hello everyone! You can call me Vera and I am a native Indonesian speaker from Surabaya. I work as an academic in a university. I graduated from Literature and Cultural Studies and have been teaching professionally both online and in class for more than 10 years. Also, I am language enthusiast who loves reading (I am quite influenced by French Philosophers), traveling, and watching movies. My experience in teaching many backgrounds (from kids to adults) is one of my strengths, therefore, I am able to create effective and innovative materials for my prospective students.Me as a Teacher
I have years of experience in teaching both English and Indonesian for expatriates and foreign students since 2010. Currently, I am learning French, German, and Polish, thus, I know the challenges in learning new languages which are totally different from our mother tongue. For me, learning language is not only about grammar and structure but also about its culture. By immersing yourself in Indonesian culture and its context will help you understand more about this language.My lessons & teaching style
Learning language should be fun! I will accommodate your preferences in learning based on your requests. I use many tools from textbook, video files, PPT, articles/news, and/or assign you with homework if you want to. Do not hesitate to contact me whether you are a total beginner in Indonesian or already advanced in it : we will have lots of topics to discuss! Kids and adults are very welcome!
