Hello! My name is Mikaela and I am from Arizona in the US. I love to travel and lived abroad in Japan for almost 3 years, teaching English and exploring. I enjoy learning about new places and cultures and the experiences of other people. In my free time I love watching movies and TV shows, reading books, drawing, and playing video games. I love hearing about different subjects and would love to talk with you about anything you are interested in. I am a very patient person and quite open and friendly. I also enjoy a good laugh! I taught English in Japan for about 3 years to junior high school students as well as preschool and kindergarten children. I loved having conversations with my students and teaching them real life English, not only what was in their textbooks. I try to make English real and fun for my students and keep them motivated to accomplish their goals. My aim as a teacher is to help you improve your conversation skills, accent, pronuncation, and grammar usage. I will talk with you and help you make a plan! I am very flexible and will meet your needs, whether it be preparing for a test or just improving and practicing your vocabulary through conversation-- we can work together on whatever you would like! I am understanding of the difficulties in learning a foreign language so I hope to set up an environment where you don't have to worry about making mistakes.
