I’m Scott, a British English teacher with a twist, I blend language learning with science and philosophy. Originally from Lancashire, I now teach in Tuscany, helping students master Medical/Scientific English, ace exams (IELTS/Cambridge), or thrive in business settings. My background? A Medical Physiology degree, and a Philosophy of Mind postgraduate cert. Fascinated by how the brain learns, I make lessons engaging and brain-friendly. Let’s break language limits together—message me to start! After becoming a certified English teacher, I began teaching students of all ages and backgrounds. Given my professional and academic history, I often provide more specific lessons, such as: Medical and Scientific English Business and Marketing English, Academic English Cambridge and IELTS exam preparations Preparation for job interviews General conversation skills Thanks to my personal experience of learning a foreign language, I understand that the best foundation for learning a language requires passion and imagination, and it is the teacher's duty to ensure these are present during each lesson. My lessons generally focus on conversational skills while establishing a solid grammatical foundation. However, I tend to organise my lessons according to each student's personal needs and goals.

I've been practicing my speaking English with Scott for a half of the year. It's always so nice to have a conversation on various topics, from your daily routine to specific ones like politics, literature and arts. I was intentioned to break the feeling of shyness and be bold in my speaking at the first place and I can state firmly that now I feel way more confident while talking in English than it was 6 months ago. Scott's approach to lessons is to make you feel comfortable enough to talk freely by directing the conversational subjects and explaining complex things in a simple way. Highly recommended if you need to develop your speaking abilities and your knowledge about tons of themes you'd like to discuss in English with foreigners.
