Hi! I’m JC, a New York-born tutor with 8+ years of helping students crush language exams (EIKEN, TRKI). My secret? Tailored 1-on-1 strategies honed across Korea, China, and Japan—where I’ve lived for 15+ years.

I have worked in high pressure environments such as company meeting halls with large groups of people but I prefer to teach in private. I think 1-on-1 lessons are far more beneficial than other types of lessons.
After teaching for 8+ years now, there were many demonstrable success stories with students regularly passing various language tests such as EIKEN or TRKI. I combine writing, speaking and listening. My own experience learning through websites has been very mixed and if you feel the same way, I totally get it! At most you'll get a couple of things in the chat but I also include thorough notes after each class, not just things copy-pasted from the chat and that sets me apart!
I am very laid back and flexible. You don't need to worry! In my classes, I always start with a brief introduction conversation and then we look at a variety of materials, reading, grammar, vocabulary and listening.
