Who is Jean? 💁‍♀️ Here's a little bit about me: 🌻 I am 30 years old. 📍I was born in Kentucky, but now I live in Florida. 📖 I love to read, 🔤 learn new languages, 🐶 play with my dog, 📺 watch old TV shows (like Golden Girls!), 🍿 watch movies (I love superheroes 🦸‍♀️ and rom-coms 💕), 🎮 play games (like MarioKart and Animal Crossing), ✈️ and travel! I have been to the Bahamas 🇧🇸, Taiwan 🇹🇼, Hong Kong 🇭🇰, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, and Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. 🤓 I call myself a "language nerd" because I am fascinated by languages. Seriously, I read linguistics textbooks for fun 🙈 so that's one of the reasons I'm here on iTalki! I've taught English online since 2019. I have a TEFL certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). I also have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky in English and a Master's of Fine Arts from Seton Hill University. One of these days, I want to start a Master's in Applied Linguistics. (Language nerd, remember?!) In the past 5 years, I’ve taught almost 6,000 classes to nearly 600 students (both children and adults) from 30 different countries. My lessons are very casual. Do you know the phrase "nit picky"? It describes someone who looks for every mistake, someone who is very critical. I am NOT nit picky. I'm one of those students who don't have enough confidence to speak english. But Jean has created such a positive and inspiring atmosphere with her passion, patience and magic earphones) In her class I'm not afraid of making mistakes because I know she will lead me to the right direction. She is so interesting and has great energy. We have been talking all the time although I'm good at creating awkward silence. Obviously she is also good at maintaining the conversations) I really appreciate her help.
