Hugh Luo-Tatebe

Hugh is incredibly friendly, perceptive, and intelligent. I have found he is able to customize the lesson to your needs effortlessly and with great skill, no matter how unconventional they might be. And he does so with clarity and a great sense of organization. He is truly bilingual in Japanese and English, which means you can communicate with true nuance in both languages. I think Hugh is terrific to work with, and I'm sure you will feel the same.

Enjoyed today’s lesson. It was comfortable and informative; I learn so much more having a human to talk to as opposed to an app. It had a good level of difficulty and it was catered toward the day-to-day conversations I would have. I also had all of my questions answered (yay).

Hugh-san specifically prepared today’s lesson for my learning needs- today we learned a lot of sentences that don’t come up in textbooks. By doing sentence translations, I am forced to think about what I would say in everyday situations. Thanks a lot for the effort you put into (and before) our classes! I would highly recommend Hugh as a teacher

Another great lesson with Hugh San! Today was a big review day to see what I could remember from our previous lessons as well as practice some basic back and forth phrases in Japanese. Exactly what I need before my upcoming trip to Japan. Highly recommend Hugh San whenever he's available for a lesson!
