I taught learners of many nationalities and of all ages. They have different pronunciations, ways of thinking, approaches to learning, and I have learnt how to approach them in different ways. I try to understand the needs and characters of my learners and adapt my teaching style to make them feel comfortable in my classes.

With consistent pattern practice lessons with Mayumi-san, I can really feel my muscles gradually adjusting to the mora and pitch patterns.
This new muscle memory has made a noticeable difference where my speaking has become smoother, and I can apply what I have learned more readily.
This course is effective and helpful for anyone learning Japanese who wants to speak naturally. I highly recommend it to beginners as well, as it helps build a stronger foundation.

Mayumi-san’s pattern practice curriculum was extremely helpful for me even as an intermediate learner. The use of speech pattern drills trains me to recall and use Japanese intuitively instead of translating it from English. Advance preparation for each pattern practice lesson is a must, but can be done easily. I find the pattern practice curriculum useful for learners who want to learn to speak and listen confidently, which would be valuable for any learner who wants to listen clearly and converse assuredly in natural Japanese.

Mayumi-san’s pattern practice curriculum is very helpful. It is clear and easy to follow regardless of one’s level.
With focused drilling on pitch accents, intonations etc., it is effective in helping learners who wish to sound more natural and be more easily understood by native speakers.
My pronunciation and intonation have improved significantly with the targeted practice, and I recommend this curriculum to anyone who is looking to speak Japanese much more naturally.
