Julio Flores

I have been working with Julio for a couple months now, and I can say, without exaggeration, that this is the most effective spanish learning that I have ever done! I took spanish in school, and even in college. But I have made more progress with my spanish in the last two months than I ever made in school, to the point where I am having conversations and feeling really good about them. But more than this, the style in which Julio teaches is extremely engaging, and I am extremely grateful to have found him as a teacher. Truly can't recommend Julio highly enough! If you're even thinking about taking a class with him, do it!

I would rate Julio's class 10 out of 5 if I can. I had a good trial class with him and today is our first full-hour session. I am so glad that I chose him. Julio is a very engaged teacher and brings interesting topics. For our first class, instead of just talking about common Mexican cuisine that everyone knows, he talked about chiles en nogada and then expanded to immigration and vegetarianism and more. It feels more like a real conversation happening between friends rather than a formal class. Julio only speaks in Spanish in the class (he can speak fluent English), which forces me to practice listening. I prefer his style to those who mix Spanish and English because I know I would fall back to English all the time. If there's something I don't understand, Julio will try different words until I get it. He is also very patient in listening to my talking and teach me how to make it better. I am really looking forward to our next class.

Julio is a very great teacher! I really enjoy our classes and looking forward to the followings one at the end of every lesson. It is very easy with him, and he's very attentive, gives lots of advices and home tasks, the last one is just that I ask him to :) One should definitely have him as a teacher of Spanish or English, at least join one class to see how amazing he is!

Blown away! I´ve just had the trial lesson and not only was it really engaging and fun, I feel like I learnt something today :) We had a friendly get-to-know each other conversation and we talked about my learning goals, but I was also "forced" to speak and ask questions in a structured manner during a fun activity which I really appreciate. Julio is a terrific teacher and he feels very approachable and at the same time really professional.

¡Me gustó mucho mi primera clase con Julio! Nosotros pasamos el tiempo bien y tuve mucha oportunidad de practicar hablando en español. Tengo mucha confianza de que pueda llegar a un nivel alto rápidamente con ayuda de Julio.
