Julio Flores

I have been doing a weekly lesson with Julio for some time now and have noted exceptional progress in conversation abilities. I am a lifelong learner of Spanish and was very much struggling to feel comfortable speaking in more profound everyday conversations. I'm sincerely thankful for Julio's dedication and guidance along the way and couldn't have asked for a better teacher. He is truly passionate about teaching Spanish (especially the coolest variety out there... Mexican Spanish) and this enthusiasm has been contagious. Thank you, Julio!

I would rate Julio's class 10 out of 5 if I can. I had a good trial class with him and today is our first full-hour session. I am so glad that I chose him. Julio is a very engaged teacher and brings interesting topics. For our first class, instead of just talking about common Mexican cuisine that everyone knows, he talked about chiles en nogada and then expanded to immigration and vegetarianism and more. It feels more like a real conversation happening between friends rather than a formal class. Julio only speaks in Spanish in the class (he can speak fluent English), which forces me to practice listening. I prefer his style to those who mix Spanish and English because I know I would fall back to English all the time. If there's something I don't understand, Julio will try different words until I get it. He is also very patient in listening to my talking and teach me how to make it better. I am really looking forward to our next class.

Julio is a wonderful teacher! I have been taken lessons with for over a year on and off and will continue to do so. He is very engaging, friendly, and good at keeping the conversation flowing. We have had many interesting conversations ranging all sorts of topics. He is also patient and good with providing timely corrections and explanations. I like how uses a virtual whiteboard to explain concepts and keeps a document where I can review material from the lesson, including how to improve my sentence structure, mistakes I made, new vocabulary, etc.

I have been working with Julio for a couple months now, and I can say, without exaggeration, that this is the most effective spanish learning that I have ever done! I took spanish in school, and even in college. But I have made more progress with my spanish in the last two months than I ever made in school, to the point where I am having conversations and feeling really good about them. But more than this, the style in which Julio teaches is extremely engaging, and I am extremely grateful to have found him as a teacher. Truly can't recommend Julio highly enough! If you're even thinking about taking a class with him, do it!

Julio is an outstanding Spanish teacher—easily one of the best instructors I’ve worked with. He came to class fully prepared, with a structured yet flexible lesson that perfectly matched my level and goals. What impressed me most was how seamlessly he adapted to my existing strengths while also challenging me to grow. julio put me at each immediate, he is a very approachable and friendly tutor. i was also impressed with his experienced methodical approach; while we were talking conversationally he was taking notes for common mistakes i made and key areas to improve, the advice he gave me was very helpful, and i look forward to taking my next class with him
