Mahder is such a warm and encouraging teacher. Even when I’m a bit off track, she’s always on point. Her focus on the Amharic alphabet is amazing! የፊደል መምሪያዋ ግሩም ነው! She creates a safe, positive space to learn. Highly recommend እወዳታለሁ።

Learning with Mahder has been a transformative experience. She's incredibly organised and very consistent, and every lesson, though only 30 minutes, feels packed with value. She makes the complex Amharic Fidel alphabet feel approachable and super fun.
We’ve covered letters like ሀ, ሐ, ኀ, and ሰ (sə), plus tricky sounds like ሠ (sʼə), and their seven fidel forms like ሀ [a], ሁ, ሂi], etc. With her help, I can now confidently say words like "አሳ" (āsa) for fish and "ሱስ" (susi), which fits my coffee (buna) addiction perfectly!
Mahder creates a calm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel at ease while learning. Her teaching is clear, fun, and incredibly effective. Highly recommend her to anyone serious about mastering Amharic pronunciation!

This was my first class with Mahder and I am very happy! Mahder is great at teaching and made the class comfortable and engaging. I feel that the class went at a good pace and she was patient and encouraging. I appreciate her feedback and plan she came up with for future classes. Betam Ameseginalehu Mahder.

Wonderfully prepared! The teacher used PPT, videos, and constantly reviewed previously learned words and phrases. She is very patient with new language learners.

I was a little hesitant at first to book with a female teacher not out of disrespect, but because I didn’t want to accidentally offend or make cultural mistakes. But, so glad I did. I already have 2 wonderful Amharic tutors on italki, but, wanted someone who could really help me focus on pronunciation, which has been the hardest part for me to master especially at my ripe age!
Amharic pronunciation has so many subtle sounds, tongue positions, & differences between letters that look or sound the same. I’ve been working on vowels, consonants, and the fidel going slowly, carefully so I can build a strong foundation. Mahder made it feel natural and fun from the start. She was so warm, and easy to talk to.
If you're serious about learning how to pronounce Amharic properly and want a kind, intelligent, and respectful guide, Mahder is amazing. I’m already looking forward to my next lesson. Amesegenallo, Mahder! አመ
