Linguistics PhD with a passion for languages. Hi! My name is Gábor, and I'm from Hungary. I have a PhD in linguistics, and a deep passion for languages. I am a researcher, and I have spent half of my life with the study of various languages in an academic setting, such as Arabic, Persian, Hindi, and Indonesian. I like the idea of formal, classroom style learning, but I also know the value of casual conversation. In my classes I like to combine the best of both worlds: I will teach you the concepts you need to know, guide you through grammar & help you to actually use the language, but it will be you that learns the words! I am casual, direct, and organized. I like to do things in some kind of order to help us keep track of progress. I am detail oriented, and I believe that one of the keys to learning a language is understanding all the little parts, so I will explain every word and the reason behind every rule, because it's hard to just memorize stuff. In my experience, this method leads to clarity when it comes to seeing your language learning path ahead. That being said, everyone has their own style and pace, and I actually enjoy being helpful in a way that suits a student's specific needs. So, if you are not a beginner or have any particular language goals, just say so I am more than happy to adapt and prepare you for something you need.
