Hello!
My name is Thomas and I'm a certified French teacher, I'm from Nantes, a western France city, in the south of Brittany region, where French is spoken with a very neutral accent.
I've travelled widely and in the last 4 yeats, I've been living most of the time in Nicaragua, Central America.
I love travelling, meeting people from all around the world, learning about how they live and also sharing with them my culture, which is why I decided to be a French teacher. My hobbies also include sports such as basketball, hiking, swimming… and I really love food! If we share some of these interests, I would be more than happy to talk about it with you :)Me as a Teacher
Originally, I started teaching French as a private tutor while I was studying in Spain, and it became a passion! I decided to certify in it and got my Master’s degree in French as a foreign language, in 2015. I taught private lessons in Spain, to future expat workers as well as college students.
Then, I came back in France for a few years and taught in different kinds of structures such as a French cultural center for international students or a refugee aid association.
Since 2020, consequently to the covid situation, I started teaching online. I taught for one year in Alliance française de Loja, in Ecuador (to adults and teenagers, A1 to B2), and then mainly on Italki.My lessons & teaching style
My method relies on two principles :
* putting SOCIO-CULTURAL content in service of improving your language skills through CONVERSATION. The content we use also serves as a support to understand grammar rules in a PROGRESSIVE and INDUCTIVE way.
* ADAPTING this method to your goals and motivations.
I'm also a confirmed examiner for DELF/DALF (A1 to C1), as well as TCF, so I can help you prepare both of these exams.
**Rescheduling or Cancellation Policy** Please take into consideration that when you miss or reschedule a class, I miss the chance to have another student for that hour. For that reason, I won't accept free cancellation or resceduling with less than 24h notice.My teaching material

Thomas is a great teacher to book your French lessons with. He will adjust the lesson plan according to your needs. Each 60-minute lesson was packed with a lot of materials and activities (including homework after class) to maximize speaking, reading, writing and listening that you can barely notice the time fly by. He also helped me correct my grammatical errors in speaking/writing (and compiles them after each lesson) and he will answer any questions you may have during the lesson. With the past few months that I’ve had with him, I could definitely notice that my French has improved a lot from when I first started and he was a big help for me in achieving the B1 level. Highly recommended!
