Yayoi sensei is a very good listener. She helped me translate Japanese sentences I was having trouble with. She also used simple terms I can understand. :)

I take some online classes through a school in Japan, in addition to here on Italki. It can be difficult for me to get my head around the homework at times. Yayoi Sensei really helps me to understand. I have to go slow and she is very patient with my learning speed. I am very grateful for her excellent help. I would recommend anyone looking for a tutor to give her classes a try.

Since I’ve being meeting with Yayoi sensei, I feel I’m learning faster. I’ve been self studying for a year. Most recently I’ve been using ChatGPT, Google Translate, DeepL, Genki 3rd addition, and Anki decks to progress my learning. One of my struggles was when the translators couldn’t understand me, I wasn’t sure how I was saying it wrong. With Yayoi’s help I’ve been able to improve my pronunciation, which has improved my confidence in speaking Japanese. Her approach is so supportive that I’m getting more comfortable making mistakes and realizing that I’ve learned a lot over the last year. I know I have a long way to go. The journey has become more enjoyable with Yayoi’s guidance.
