I live in Nagano, Japan.
My hobby is traveling. I've been to Canada, the US, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. In Japan, I love visiting breweries, wineries, and hot springs.
I also love anime and manga, and watch them often.
I also make MIZUHIKI accessories.

趣味は旅行です。海外ではカナダ、アメリカ、中国、フィリピン、ベトナム、タイ、インドネシアに行きました。日本ではブルワリーやワイナリー、そして温泉をめぐるのが大好きです。

I majored in Japanese language education at my university. Since graduating from university, I have been teaching Japanese in China for three years and in Japan for over 17 years, including online.
I love teaching Japanese. I can teach conversation, composition, kanji, test preparation, business Japanese, pronunciation, anything.
I also have a YouTube "日本語まきちゃんねる".

I try to make it easy for you to understand and enjoy learning in class.

I can teach at any level, from beginner to business level. I teach in Japanese according to the learner's level, so even beginners can learn with confidence. You can ask questions in English or Chinese, but I use Japanese as much as possible. I plan lessons at the learner's request, to be able to speak, to pass the test, and so on.

Foreign Teacher(Japanese teacher)After graduating from university, I taught Japanese to Chinese university students in China. I was the only Japanese teacher, so I had to devise a teaching method, prepare what I needed for class, and do everything myself. The hardships and experiences of that time are all my confidence and foundation now.

Full-time lecturerI taught Japanese to international students at a Japanese language school in Tokyo. They go on to university and graduate school in Japan. I had to teach them from beginner level Japanese and let them pass college and graduate school. So I learned how to teach to pass the Japanese language exam, how to write a letter of reasons for applying for graduate school, how to choose a school, etc.
2012 - 2019
Full-time lecturer, Head of TeachingI also taught Japanese at a Japanese language school in my hometown of Nagano. In addition to teaching Japanese, I also taught everyday life and part-time jobs. I also served as head of teaching, managing other teachers and schedules, and planning and managing events.
2019 - 2021
Head of teaching, PrincipalAtago Japanese Language School is a Japanese language school that opened in 2019. I was hired there as head of teaching and then principal. While teaching Japanese as a teacher, I strongly felt my responsibility as a principal as a company that runs schools and schools. A new visa was created in 2019, so I needed to learn about it as well and think about the usefulness it would bring to them.

Maki-sensei is a great teacher and so patient when explaining grammar points. She is very good at keeping the level of Japanese suitable for my beginner level and making me feel like I understand what she is saying! The lessons are almost entirely in Japanese so you are really being immersed.

Maki-sensei is always so helpful and upbeat! Each class, I get a lot of practice with vocabulary and grammar. Maki-sensei explains things well with lots of examples, and is very patient when I'm struggling to understand something. She provides a really great learning environment and I definitely recommend Maki-sensei as a teacher!

I was really intimidated by the idea of starting lessons in Japanese, but it has been such a great experience and I feel very safe making mistakes. This is my third lesson with Maki-san and I am having so much fun! :) She is very warm, caring, and patient, and makes me feel comfortable in pushing my comfort zone. An hour passes by very quickly, since she always has something interesting to talk about! Maki-san also speaks slowly and clearly and brings useful materials to every class (pictures, diagrams, vocabulary lists) that help me learn. I feel like I am making great progress and look forward to continuing to take lessons with her.

Maki-sensei is always so patient and takes the time to help me find the words I need, providing new words to help me express myself when I don't have the vocabulary. Her practice scenarios are very helpful when reviewing as well as learning new vocab and grammar. She's very encouraging when I'm struggling with something and I appreciate how supportive she is, especially when I have questions. Thank you, Maki-sensei!
