It is great to have Maki sensei in my Japanese learning journey. I have been taking Japanese lessons with Maki sensei and she is great at listening and understanding her students. Patient and calm, sensei makes her students feel understood and creates a calm environment for learners to make mistakes and to try their best without feeling pressured. I would definitely recommend Maki to other Japanese learners :)

Maki-sensei is a great teacher and so patient when explaining grammar points. She is very good at keeping the level of Japanese suitable for my beginner level and making me feel like I understand what she is saying! The lessons are almost entirely in Japanese so you are really being immersed.

Class with Maki-sensei is always so enjoyable! I learn a lot without feeling pressured. I was really intimidated by the idea of starting lessons in Japanese, but it has been such a great experience and I feel very safe making mistakes. I know Maki-sensei will help me find what I was actually trying to say and help me find even more ways I could say something! Thank you, Maki-sensei!

This is my third lesson with Maki-san and I am having so much fun! :) She is very warm, caring, and patient, and makes me feel comfortable in pushing my comfort zone. An hour passes by very quickly, since she always has something interesting to talk about! Maki-san also speaks slowly and clearly and brings useful materials to every class (pictures, diagrams, vocabulary lists) that help me learn. I feel like I am making great progress and look forward to continuing to take lessons with her.

Maki-sensei is always so patient and takes the time to help me find the words I need, providing new words to help me express myself when I don't have the vocabulary. Her practice scenarios are very helpful when reviewing as well as learning new vocab and grammar.
