I really appreciate each lesson with Ruth. She is patient and always has a way of explaining a word or phrase that I find difficult to understand. I really like that it is not always small talk, but we also work on describing and reading skills.

After taking lessons with Teacher Ruth for just a few months, my Swahili has gone from absolute zero to understanding the principles of grammar and sentence structure, as well as a significant amount of vocabulary. I'm able to form sentences on my own and we're now readily progressing through conversational skills. It feels amazing to be able to make so much progress in such a short period of time. Teacher Ruth is a wonderful teacher who is patient and supportive, I always look forward to our lessons. Asante sana, Mwalimu!

Ruth is a highly engaging teacher. She takes an interest in me as a student and incorporates my learning style into her lessons. I can feel her passion for teaching and it inspires me to continue booking Swahili classes. She's very encouraging to me as a beginner which I highly appreciate because my confidence is not high when I'm learning a new language. She's easily the best Swahili teacher on italki and arguably the best language teacher I've had so far.

Today was another amazing lesson! Despite technical difficulties, she never made me feel rushed or anxious. She was clear and very easy to understand, plus she helped me break down sentence and word structures to really get a grasp on *why* the words or phrases are set the way they are. I have homework to do, to keep me sharp until next week!

A wonderfully warm and welcoming teacher! Very clear and easy to understand, friendly and personable, taking all the anxiety out of learning and turning it into something delightfully fun. I never once felt like my learning or experiences were minimized - she encouraged me toward my goals and laid out a clear pathway forward.
