10+ yrs expierence/American maestro in Guatemala/10+ años experiencia/estadounidense en Guatemala As an American teacher I have been residing in Guatemala for over a decade and have taught in fields such as world history, English literature, and English as a second language. I enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures. I take joy in the art of film, novels, and music. I myself am an author aside from a teacher tending towards the vibrant creative world of science fiction. Aside from working as an italki teacher work in Guatemala as a college prep teacher helping Guatemalan students achieve acceptance and scholarships to prestigious US colleges. This includes, but not limited to, SAT and TOEFL preparation. Though equipped with an academic mind I consider myself a laid back teacher who likes to laugh and joke. I enjoy getting to know my students to better identify their needs in the language. I attempt to find topics the student may be interested in and using such material in the teaching of the language to create an overall better experience. Classes are flexible in teaching style. Talking with Robert is a real pleasure. Robert is a very attentive listener, he pays attention to language errors and he can tell about them in such a way as not to disturb the conversation.

He offended many religions, including mine. He also did not give me enough time to speak English during the class. I do not recommend taking his class.

I’ve had two lessons with Robert so far and I’ve really enjoyed them. The lessons are interesting and I learn new vocabulary every time. We also spend a lot of time practicing conversation. Robert corrects my mistakes while I’m speaking and I find that very helpful for improving my English. I highly recommend him!
