Conversational practices including pronunciation, idioms, proverbs etc. I am a 2nd generation Malaysian Chinese, born and bred in Malaysia. I like to read and I read from billboards to nutritional information on food packaging to instruction manuals. Additionally, learning a new language is also my passion as I am exposed to German and French when studying in Switzerland. My then workplace, a hotel, encourages us to pick up a new language and I choose Japanese. Therefore, I do have some knowledge of Japanese as well. Coincidentally, after obtaining my MBA from University of Ballarat, Australia, I have been lecturing at local universities and colleges focusing in business on a part-time basis. My students had become my friends as I encourage speaking out, which is a rare thing in the Asian setting. I motivate them to learn as much as possible in and out of classroom lessons. I focus more on contemporary issues that is happening around the world. I can achieve this is because I regularly update myself with the news from all over the world especially we have the Internet that facilitates easy learning. Focusing on one topic at a time is utmost important as that is how the brain works, it compartmentalise the information and making it easily retrievable.

Teacher Dannie makes it simple to make cantonese sentences. There are many words that sound more or less the same but have different meanings. He gives examples and explains them well. This is a very important aspect of cantonese and Teacher Dannie highlights this well

I enjoyed my first lesson with Danny. I'm an absolute beginner but in a short time, we covered quite a bit of ground.
