About Me

I have experience teaching to secondary school and university students, as well as to adults. I taught Italian in a Danish high school in 2018 and also to university students in Belgium in 2020. As a private teacher, I want my students to enjoy learning with me and that they work on what is most interesting and important to them. During our first class, we can discuss why you are learning Italian, what learning outcome you would like to achieve, and also what kind of method or activities you prefer.

I like to follow a communicative approach, which means that I teach the language mainly according to its communicative functions (i.e. how to introduce yourself, ask for directions, order at a restaurant, but also express opinions etc.). In this approach, grammar is seen as a useful tool to express yourself rather than the only thing worth knowing about a foreign language. I like to speak Italian as much as possible in my classes, because I believe that by surrounding yourself with the language, you quickly become more familiar with its sounds and words. But I want you to feel at ease, so I can speak also English and German/Spanish if that's what you prefer. I also like conversation classes.My teaching material

Italian Language Assistant TeacherI helped and taught in Italian language classes to Bachelor's students (CEFR Levels: B1-C1). My main tasks consisted in giving individual and small-group conversation classes; preparing teaching materials for grammar and conversation classes; hold language classes (reading, listening, speaking) with small groups and grammar review lessons; correcting homework and language tests. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, most of these teaching activities took place online.

Volunteer / TeacherI worked and lived at Rejsby Europaeiske Efterskole as a European Volunteer (European Voluntary Service). There I taught the elective subject Italian language and culture and also helped teachers during English and German classes. I was working with 15-17 year olds who had no previous knowledge of the Italian language, so I gained experience in teaching to absolute beginners.

She is very supportive and has very efficient & smooth way to explain her own language & culture which make Italian easy to assimilate.

A wonderful first lesson with Carolina. She is such a nice, positive and smiling person, and she made feel immediately very much at ease. We had a very friendly chat and at the end we also discussed how to structure our future lessons. As I love to read, she recommended some nice books that we can read or discuss together in our next lessons. The quality of audio and video was just perfect. I am really looking forward to new lessons with Carolina:)
