I am a very cheerful, open-minded person. I always try to be the teacher that I would like to learn with. I am interested in other cultures and languages, and I constantly learn other languages. Right now, I take Spanish and Slovak classes here on italki, so I am also a language learner like you.
As I am interested in Japanese culture, customs, and actual topics, in the class, we read a lot of articles (only if you choose the class of Nihongo de yomou-!). I love to know about your country and share my experience living both in Europe and Japan.

Me as a Teacher
For me, it is very important that you study hard. Learning a new language requires an investment of time. The more you learn, the better your language skill will be. I want my students to study as much as they can, not just in our class. Any activities you do in Japanese, you can call it to study; reading mangas, watching animes, listening to music, etc... I can also give you some homework if you wish.
*I am not a Japanese teacher, but a native speaker. I am here to teach more casually, not to teach the grammar from the beginning. All of my students learn grammar by themselves. I am here to help you to USE Japanese. (speaking, writing, reading...)
I look forward to getting to know you ^_^
My lessons & teaching style
Before starting the lesson, I want to know about you and I want you to know about me, so please introduce yourself. (Please tell me your study history, too!) As I personally like teachers more like friends, why not stay casual? From my experience, I think setting a goal is important. Let's set a goal in our first class! In my class, we can enjoy daily conversation, write letters in Japanese (Did you know that Japanese people like writing and receiving letters!), study for JLPT, read some news articles or books, etc. If you want to reschedule or cancel your class, please do it on italki more than 24h before the scheduled time, or I will not be able to accept any changes that may occur.

Another great lesson! I appreciate that it is always easy to talk to Juri. She always keeps the conversation flowing naturally and stays patient and cheerful even when pausing to explain parts I don't understand. It feels safe to try using new words and grammar and expressing myself in a foreign language without fear of embarrassment. I also appreciate the variety of materials we use, like articles, videos, and audio clips. Highly recommend her as a teacher no matter your level of Japanese!

Juri is an effective, reliable, and warm teacher who has helped me improve my casual speaking skills and delve into topics I’m interested in, such as regional dialects, festivals, and music.
Some highlights of taking classes with her:
- She gives feedback during and after lessons in a clear and judgement-free way. I don’t feel embarrassed about making mistakes in class.
- She takes the time to understand your interests and creates lessons to match them.
- She’s just generally fun to talk with, and she’s a fellow language learner, so she knows the struggles that can come with it.
Tl;dr Juri is an excellent person to study with, whether you’re looking to level up or practice your existing Japanese skills.✨

Juri is the best Japanese teacher on italki. She is patient during conversations, uses real life examples and materials and is open to studying/explaining anything the student wants. Her fluent English and understanding of western culture enable her to explain grammar and concepts in an easy to understand way.
