Yevgeni Yeliseyev

Yevgeni is a great teacher. He is always well prepared with interesting questions for any topic I choose. He sends me the vocabulary in advance or explains it in the beginning of our lessons. He also gives me a very detailed feedback which is something I really need. He is really interesting to talk to and also very supportive so the time seems flying by during our lessons.

I learned a lot in this lesson. Yevgeni is great at explaining grammar.

We worked more on my pronunciation and practiced the correct usage of для, на, and за. I love Yevgeni's teaching style because he is able to explain complicated topics in a way that makes them much more simple to understand. It's obvious that he really enjoys helping his students with Russian :)

I had high hopes for this trial lesson, but there was an issue that made it less smooth than expected. I specifically filtered for teachers using Zoom and excluded those without it, as it's my preferred tool. However, the teacher's profile indicated Zoom availability, but just 3 minutes before the start, I received a message saying: 'Hello. I will be waiting for you in iTalki Classroom.' I missed it initially as I was set up in Zoom, which failed to connect, forcing a rushed switch. At the beginning of the lesson, the teacher suggested I could send my own Zoom link, which made me feel caught off guard and pressured – I found it unfair, as I wouldn't have booked if Zoom wasn't truly an option. For honesty, teachers should remove Zoom from their profiles if they can't or won't use it. The teacher shared lots of info about the language, but it felt overwhelming for a first get-to-know-you session.
